Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components
A special item can be used to evolve certain Pokemon. The upgrade is obtained by spinning a photo disc. It is sometimes offered as a prize at Pokemon GO events.
Upgrades can be used on armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, as well as gathering tools in order to boost their level. The upgrade costs Flightstones or crests based on the kind of item.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be placed into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to give bonus effects or attribute bonuses while the equipment is being used. There are various upgrade components, each with distinct bonuses. Universal upgrades, such as gems and inscriptions can be used with any kind of equipment. They also offer lower bonuses than other kinds of upgrade components. Infusions are able to be used on legendary and non-amulet items, while enhancements are able to be used on back equipment that has been ascended. Injecting an upgrade component can destroy the previous upgrade. Exceptions are glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and Enchantments, which can be removed and reinserted freely.
Insignias or enchantments, as well as prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item and they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia would change the name into Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components that have been added to an item will be displayed in the tooltip for the item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add decorative or functional elements, like ligatures, ornaments, fractions and swashes registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs panel allows you to view and insert these special characters, as well as regular glyphs like em dashes, en dashes, registered trademark symbols and characters that are not found in other fonts (such as dingbats).
Each Glyph gives an initial boost in stats for the character. The glyph can also have up to four secondary stats that alter the radius of your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase that is multiplied when other bonuses are applied, with the exception of Speed Glyphs which directly increase the hero's speed.
Selecting the Glyphs and clicking "enchant" will activate the Glyphs. This will open a new window showing the Glyphs you have available that can be applied to the item you have selected. Be aware that only the correct kind of Glyph can be applied to the selected item and each weapon, jewelry or armor piece may have distinct sets of Glyphs.
Glyphs can be improved by running Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult the dungeon is, the greater the amount of Glyph experience you'll gain. Once a Glyph is at level 15, it can be upgraded by the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board grows by one node for each 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.
Once a Glyph has been leveled up to the desired level You can activate it by selecting it and then pressing the "enchant" button. The resulting glyph will provide its stated bonus and will also boost the other nodes within its radius on the Paragon Board. It's important to place Glyphs in the best locations to benefit your build, and this is why it's a good idea to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Some glyphs, however, could offer double bonuses in the event that certain conditions are satisfied, so they're worth looking out for too.

Rerolling
